With considerable experience working in the Information and Communications Technology sector, Clare O’Connor specializes in strategic communications and marketing. As a former VP of corporate communication, Clare worked with internal teams to develop processes enabling improved customer communication. She also led internal and external communication efforts during two mergers. Clare is adept at writing policies and conducting training focused on various internal and external needs including security management, acceptable use, social media use, and onboarding and off boarding. Clare has also worked with IT teams to identify strategic direction and planning and to communicate progress with diverse audiences.
Clare is also an experienced trainer and coach. She has developed and facilitated numerous training sessions focused on marketing through traditional and social media channels. These sessions have been delivered locally and nationally.
As a professional writer, Clare has written for numerous publications including the Nova Scotia Business Journal, Boom, Progress, Atlantic Books Today, Atlantic Business Magazine, OptiMYz, Meet Nova Scotia, Business Voice, and the Mi’kmaq Maliseet Nations News. Clare also co-wrote the book Celebrity Court Cases: Trials of the rich and famous. She is a member of the Professional Writers Association of Canada, the Writers’ Federation of Nova Scotia, and the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators.
Clare is a past recipient of the Halifax-Cornwallis Canadian Progress Club Women of Excellence Award in Communications and Public Affairs. She has also received the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada Chair’s Award for outstanding contribution to the organization nationally.
